License

CouchMode is licensed, not sold. It is a Windows utility for session preparation and restoration around Windows and existing gaming frontends.

CouchMode does not replace the Windows shell and does not replace your Windows startup flow. Startup automation is optional and controlled by the user.

CouchMode does not modify Windows internals, install kernel drivers, bypass security features, or patch games or Windows.

Free and Pro

One installer may include Free features, the 7-day Pro trial, and Pro activation. Free features are available without purchase. Pro features require an active trial or active Patreon membership during public beta.

Free includes the controller-first session flow, the Windows Xbox full-screen experience where supported, Steam Big Picture, Playnite, and the return to your desktop when a session ends. Pro covers compatible custom launchers, Resource Control, Session Tweaks, and the deeper session automation.

7-day Pro trial

The 7-day in-app Pro trial starts in CouchMode and does not require an account or credit card.

Eligible first-time members can start a separate 7-day Patreon trial on the available paid tiers. Patreon requires a payment method but does not charge the membership fee until that trial ends. The Patreon trial is separate from CouchMode's 7-day in-app Pro trial, and Patreon decides who is eligible for it.

• In-app trial: 7 days, no CouchMode account and no credit card required.
• Patreon trial: a separate 7 days, administered by Patreon, payment method required, billing begins after the trial if the membership continues.

Patreon supporter access

During public beta, CouchMode Pro access is provided through Patreon membership. The Pro license remains active while membership is active.

If membership ends, fails, is refunded, or is canceled, Pro access may return to Free mode after a short grace period.

Pro Version is $3/month and includes personal Pro access on up to 2 active Windows devices. Pro Supporter is $5/month and includes personal Pro access on up to 5 active Windows devices.

Xbox Mode availability

Xbox Mode and the Xbox full-screen experience are provided by Windows and Microsoft. Availability and behavior depend on device, Windows version, Xbox app support, rollout status, and system support. CouchMode cannot make Xbox Mode available on unsupported systems.

Automation and restore

CouchMode attempts safe, reversible session changes. Review your settings before enabling automation, especially display, audio, power, startup, and Resource Control options.

CouchMode does not promise performance boosts or identical behavior on every Windows device.

Activation limit

Pro access may have activation limits to prevent abuse. Contact support if you need help with a legitimate device change.

No warranty

CouchMode is provided as-is. We work to keep it reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation on every PC setup.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, CouchMode is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Third-party services

Patreon may handle billing, membership, cancellation, and refund details for Patreon-based Pro access. CouchMode does not store payment card details.
